About Ginger Roux

Tucked inside 1100 Tulane Ave in the heart of New Orleans, Ginger Roux is one of those spots that instantly feels like home. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between laid-back comfort and a hint of Southern elegance. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick bite or settling down for a full meal, this diner-style restaurant makes every visit memorable with its flavorful menu and friendly service.

One of the first things you’ll notice about Ginger Roux is the aroma-rich, savory, and slightly sweet, hinting at the goodness to come. The Chicken Wings here are a must-try: crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and seasoned just right. If you’re in the mood for something lighter, the Shrimp Salad delivers a refreshing mix of fresh greens and perfectly cooked shrimp, dressed with just enough zest to make every bite pop.

Of course, no visit would be complete without trying one of their signature drinks. The Hibiscus Cocktail, a floral and slightly tangy blend, pairs beautifully with almost anything on the menu. For those who enjoy something cool and tropical, the Blue Lagoon is another standout-it’s as vibrant in flavor as it is in color. And if you’re after something more classic, Ginger Roux also serves a solid cup of coffee and a well-curated wine selection at their full bar on site.

The Chicken Sandwich deserves a special mention-it’s tender, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with crisp toppings and a soft bun. It’s the kind of comfort food that keeps you coming back. Between bites, the friendly staff and relaxed ambiance make you feel at ease, whether you’re dining solo or sharing a table with friends.

Beyond the delicious food, Ginger Roux also stands out for its thoughtful amenities. Guests appreciate that the restaurant accepts reservations, offers a clean and convenient toilet facility, and provides an inviting space to enjoy coffee or wine without feeling rushed.

From locals looking for their next favorite lunch spot to visitors exploring New Orleans, Ginger Roux delivers a dining experience that’s warm, flavorful, and effortlessly enjoyable. With rave reviews from guests who love its atmosphere and menu, this location has earned its place as a must-visit restaurant in the city’s ever-growing culinary scene.

The food here is AMAZING! The chef knows each dish well and makes them with perfection! The bar is right outside, and you couldn't get a better combo!

We stayed at the hotel so we went to the restaurant for breakfast. Wow. Amazing food. Banana Foster pancakes and shrimp and grits. Set for another amazing day in New Orleans.

We went to have a Birthday Celebration for lunch and was not disappointed. The Smash burger had layers of robust flavors and the kick of Asian mustard sealed the experience. Paired with some crunchy chips just hardy enough for lunch but light enough to keep you alert for the rest of the work day. The service was top notch and the General Manager, Mr. Kendal Toles, made our experience 5 star Michelin worthy. I can’t wait to come back for dinner. Economical and bountiful.

Stopped here for dinner yesterday as it was the closest to my hotel. I was the only patron in the dining room. The service was fast and the server was polite. The food was hot and ok. The portions were very large. I was not a big fan of the menu and probably won’t return.

Ginger Roux is so delicious and definitely worth dining at! They have such a fun blend of Asian and Cajun/Creole cuisine, and the chef does an excellent job with putting it all together. I got the crawfish boil fried rice which was the perfect comfort food. Also the server/bartender is super sweet and informative. Definitely check them out!

Located in the Canopy Hotel just a block from Canal Street. Plenty of seating in the dining room or at the bar. Open kitchen so we enjoyed watching Chef Rochelle prepare dishes. Everything we ordered was perfection. Homemade sauces were delicious. Highly recommend Roux’ take on beignets - light and served with berries and a delightful buttery sauce with just a light dusting of powdered sugar.
